Abstract Funding Acknowledgements Type of funding sources: None. Introduction From the beginning, use X-ray (XR) has been a critical component in both guidance and development arrhythmia ablation procedures. Despite non-fluoroscopic navigators, single-shot techniques for atrial fibrillation procedures still rely almost exclusively on XR. Recently, Heliostar® irrigated radiofrequency balloon developed, which can be completely visualized Carto 3® navigation system. This special feature makes it possible to minimise XR this type procedure or even suppress it. We present our first experience after implementation "zero-XR" protocol procedure. Objectives The aim study was demonstrate that with is safe. Methods single-centre study. Consecutively 22 patients paroxysmal (63.6%) persistent (36.4%) underwent pulmonary vein isolation by (Heliostar®). Eight cases were performed without fluoroscopy, supported system intracardiac ultrasound, remaining 14 limitation Clinical, echocardiographic technical data collected from all patients. All under general anaesthesia, Mapping sinus rhythm whenever possible. Results 100% veins achieved, 62.1% pass non-XR group versus 56.4% (non-significant difference). highest percentage isolations left inferior groups. There no complications either group. Procedure times similar (left dwell time 32 minutes 40 group, non-significant difference), although mapping slightly shorter (9,9±5 vs 16±6.9, p=0.04). also difference mean start application each (10.6 seconds 11 p=0.75). had higher number main trunk, but forms fibrillation. Left size normal most patients, ventricular function preserved, differences between two Conclusion Pulmonary safe, efficacy rate, relevant series.

OBJECTIVES We sought to evaluate whether porcine pulmonary vein (PV) isolation (PVI) can be produced by ablation using our novel radiofrequency (RF) thermal balloon catheter (RBC). BACKGROUND It has been proposed that PVI can prevent focal atrial fibrillation (AF) originating in or close to the PV. METHODS The RBC is composed of a 12F main shaft, a 4F inner tube and a balloon. Inside the ba...

OBJECTIVES We sought to evaluate the efficacy and safety of a novel cryothermal balloon ablation system in creating pulmonary vein (PV) isolation. BACKGROUND Pulmonary vein isolation using standard radiofrequency ablation techniques is limited by procedure-related complications, such as thrombus formation and PV stenosis. Cryothermal ablation may reduce the risk of such complications. METHO...
متن کاملSuccessful radiofrequency pulmonary vein isolation in a patient with pneumonectomy.
Among electrophysiologic procedures, catheter ablation of atrial fibrillation (AF) is challenging, requiring the isolation of all pulmonary veins (PVs). AF is associated with serious complications including PV stenosis. Presently described was a technically challenging case of PV isolation in a patient with left-sided pneumonectomy due to lung cancer.
